When Will It End?

ALERT: #241
DATE: July 17, 2010
TO: Incline Village & Crystal Bay Property Owners
FROM: Village League Tax Revolt Committee

Dear Incline Village & Crystal Bay Property Taxpayers,

The office of Richard Gammick (Washoe County District Attorney) recently filed a reply to a pending Supreme Court case requesting that all three cases now pending before the Nevada Supreme Court be consolidated.

Since 2003, Mr. Gammick’s office has constantly tried to create as many court cases as possible, thereby stalling the Village League’s efforts to get our property tax refunds issued as was ordered by the Nevada Supreme Court.

So why the change in the Washoe County District Attorney’s strategy? Very Simple. Another delay tactic. If the Nevada Supreme Court were to agree to the consolidation, it would take at least six months to consolidate the cases, and then another year or more to receive rulings.

The Village League has requested that this consolidation proposal be dismissed. But, once again, District Attorney Gammick is trying to affect yet another delay in getting our justified refunds of over paid taxes. Unbelievable but oh so true!!

.
